Welcome

Welcome to our mixed martial arts information pages. Here you will find info on taekwondo, karate, kung fu, judu, jujitsu, kickboxing, and the mixed martial arts.

My history with taekwondo starts in 1974 after watching a Bruce Lee movie. After begging my mother to take lessons I ended up at the Yoo Jin Kim Institute of Krate at the local YMCA. I did not understand the quality I had stumbled upon. I found out later that this was Jidokwan Tae Kwon Do. Yoo Jin Kim's sons are still teaching today in Georgia as the Kim Brothers.

Karate and Tae Kwon Do have a lot in common. Many of the kicks and punches look alike. It is generally thought that taekwondo is a descendent of the earlier Karate styles.

Most of my kung fu experience revolves around wing chun. This was the first exposure to kung fu and it made quite an impression. Read on to the kung fu page to read more about my experiences with this fascinating art.

Judo has long been a favorite art of mine. I remember a book probably still at my mother's house, that showed many judo throws and techniques. I spent long hours studying that book and trying to learn the techniques. Read on to learn more about Judo throws and techniques.

Jujitsu, though a very old art, is just now coming into the light. The last ten years have shown Jujitsu to be an effective art for both the street and the ring. Read further to learn maore about jujitsu and find some intresting links.

Kickboxing and cardio have become popular in the last few years with the fitness boom. There may be no better exercise than a strong kickboxing workout. You are guaranteed to go some in a sweat. With it's origin deep in the Thai history, Thai Kickboxing has proved to be one of the more effective arts.
